CBD, short for cannabidiol, is one of over a hundred cannabinoids found in plants of the Cannabis Sativa family. The World Health Organization describes it as "generally well tolerated with a good safety profile".
CBD works by blocking enzymes that are responsible for breaking down the useful molecule anandamide. Anandamide is a human cannabinoid that naturally occurs in your body. It acts as a chemical signal to help your body systems maintain a healthy balance. When CBD is present, your anandamide levels build up and your body can quickly respond to any problems it faces.
The CBD gummies we sell at for the Ageless are jelly sweets containing a precise measure of cannabidiol extracted from hemp. Gummies come in different types can be made in slightly different ways:
· Convenient to consume and easy to carry with you.
· Contain a precisely measured amount of CBD.
· Delicious flavours to cover the hemp taste that is an issue with some oils.
· Longer lasting effects than other CBD types, up to 4 - 6 hours.
· Slow to take effect, can be between 30 minutes and two hours.
· Low absorption compared to other methods. Only 4% to 20% of CBD will reach your bloodstream.
· Lots are gelatin based so not suitable for vegans.
· Many contain sugar.
To keep your gummies at their most effective, keep them sealed in the container they come in, or if they’re in a plastic packet, consider transferring them to a small jar. Always keep your CBD gummies away from heat and out of direct sunlight. Direct light can degrade CBD. If warm, CBD gummies can be refrigerated.
When you're ready, take them out of the packet and eat the sweets as you would any other. When you chew, hold the juices under your tongue, the cannabinoids will absorb into your bloodstream faster.
We recommend taking CBD alongside food containing some fat for best results. You may also want to try enjoying your gummies at a few different times to see which works best for you.
5mg gummies are well-suited to beginners. If you've not tried CBD before, it's worth taking some time to work out what daily serving provides the results you're looking for. Start with one 5mg gummy 4 - 6 times per day. This could be taken as 2 – 3 in the morning and 2 – 3 in the evening. Then increase the daily amount each week.
Most brands pack their gummies in multiples of 30 and we usually stock containers of 30 or 60. If you plan on taking two per day, a 60 pack is ideal and will last you about a month.
Note: Don’t be tempted to take a larger serving because it wasn’t as expected on day 1. CBD takes time to build up in your system. This is why we recommend taking the same amount each day for the first week. Also, CBD is biphasic which means taking larger amounts has a different and sometimes the opposite effect.
Many people regularly take CBD gummies without any problems, but some experience side effects. Those that have been noted in scientific studies include dry mouth, gastrointestinal problems, and changes in appetite and weight.
CBD can interact with some commonly prescribed drugs. This could change how medication behaves in your body and might produce unexpected results. Before taking CBD, check with your pharmacist or Doctor to ensure it is safe to do so.
In rare cases, cannabis products like CBD can cause allergic reactions, but it's not considered an allergen. Most CBD gummies won't contain allergens like peanuts, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, eggs and milk, but different manufacturers use different recipes, so it's essential that you check the ingredients.
You may have seen claims that CBD can improve sleep quality or reduce anxiety and pain. At for the Ageless, you won't find unproven statements. We sell CBD gummies as food supplements only. They're not medicines and aren't intended to offer any specific health benefits.
