Over 2000 rose petals are needed to make a single drop of rose Damask oil, so Alteya applies incredible attention to detail to make the most of every petal they harvest. Alteya Organics is a family-run company based in the world-famous Bulgarian Valley of Roses. They have about fifty full-time employees, but during the harvest, they reach out to over 400 surrounding families to help with the petal picking. In addition to their own rose and lavender essential oils, the Alteya all-natural skincare formulations contain organic plant extracts sourced from areas known for their excellent production standards.
Although Alteya Organics is a modern company, it continues to use many traditional techniques and ingredients. Because Bulgarian rose petals can only be picked during a short seasonal window, its impressive knowledge of traditional methods allows it to produce the purest, most potent oils. It even uses a 400-year-old steam distillation method that’s been updated with a modern twist to gently extract the beneficial oils from each petal.
