3. How to take a strong CBD oil

CBD affects everyone differently. Some people feel the benefits with just a small amount, while others may need to gradually build up, depending on their own response and guidance.

With strong CBD oils, check how much CBD is in each drop, pump or spray before use.

CBD is described as “biphasic”, meaning low and high amounts can have different effects. This research concept does not establish an individual serving size or a reason to change intake based on the effects you notice.

For best results, place the oil under your tongue and hold it there for 1–2 minutes before swallowing. This helps it absorb through the membrane under the tongue. Follow with a glass of water, and ideally some food containing a little fat, like oil or butter, to support better absorption.

If you use more than one CBD product, such as oil, spray, tea, gummies or capsules, count your total CBD intake across the day.

4. Safety and UK guidance

Why is high-strength CBD expensive?
High-strength CBD products cost more because they pack in more cannabidiol and less carrier oil. Growing high-quality hemp, CO2 extraction, and third-party quality checks add to costs, but you usually get more milligrams per bottle, so the cost per mg is often a better value.

Will strong CBD oil make me high?
No. In the technical sense, CBD is psychoactive; it interacts with your nervous system, but it’s non-intoxicating. CBD itself is non-intoxicating. Full-spectrum oils may contain trace THC, so check the product’s current lab information rather than relying on a simple 1mg-per-container rule.

Is strong CBD oil legal in the UK?
